Google World Wonder Project

The great historical sites of the world have been captured digitally in a combined effort by Google, UNESCO, the World Monuments Fund, Getty Images and Ourplace.

The idea is to digitally record these critically important sites for years to come.

The technology uses Google street view functionality to explore sites as Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids but goes further in that people will be able to explore via You Tube, 3D imaging and photos.

A great effort to bring hugely important historic sites to a massive audience. There are 132 to explore, take a look at the You Tube video for an idea of what’s on offer on the Google World Wonder Project.
