History Repeating – Proposed New Euston Station

The government is proposing a complete redevelopment of Euston Station as it gives the go ahead for the London to Birmingham High Speed Rail Line.

    • Euston station, built in 1830,  was the first railway station built in London when the London to Birmingham line was opened. It had two platforms, one for arrivals and one for departures.
    • By the 1960’s the station could no longer cope with the volume of traffic and amidst much controversey, it was demolished and the present station with it’s twenty platforms was built.

Now it’s time for phase three of the redevelopment of Euston station.
